A former governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ).
This was revealed in a statement by the governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, who described the appointment as “a laudable, well-deserved one”.
“Chief Osoba fits perfectly into the apex role, having spent his life building a career and reputation in professional journalism. This has not in any way deterred the marks he has made as an astute administrator and statesman.
“I am confident that this appointment by a Council of the brightest minds will not be regretted, as Baba Osoba will diligently answer the call to service and bring a rebirth to the Media,” Governor Abiodun said in a thread of tweets on Wednesday, August 26.
